THE WOW SIGNAL M55 8/15/1977 (See blog: Journey 8/15/2018 Columbis SC Def Leppard)
The Greek word "ἐλευθερία" (capitalized Ἐλευθερία; Attic Greek pronunciation: [eleu̯tʰer'ia]), transliterated as eleutheria, is an Ancient Greek term for, and personification of, liberty. Eleutheria personified had a brief career on coins of Alexandria.
Etymology
For R. F. Willets, Cretan dialect 'Eleuthia' would connect Eileithyia (or perhaps the goddess "Eleutheria") to Eleusis.[1] The name is probably related with a city in Crete named Eleutherna. Walter Burkert believes that Eileithyia is the Greek goddess of birth and that her name is pure-Greek. [2]. However the relation with the Greek prefix ἐλεύθ is uncertain, because the prefix appears in some Pre-Greek toponyms like Ἐλευθέρνα (Eleutherna). In Roman mythology, Demeter (Ceres) has a daughter named Libera ("Liberty/Freedom").
Modern interpretations
I. F. Stone, who taught himself Greek in his old age, wrote a book, The Trial of Socrates, pointing out that Socrates and Plato do not value eleutheria, freedom; instead were Sparta-lovers, wanting a monarch, an oligarchy, instead of a democracy, a republic.
The French philosopher Michel Foucault, in lectures given at Berkeley and Boulder, made the same argument for Socrates' failure to invoke parrhesia, freedom of speech, the obligation to speak the truth for the common good at personal risk, in his own defense at his trial, preferring to die in obedience to law as above men. Athenians held that they democratically shaped law, seeing Socrates' stance as treason.

In radio, narrowband describes a channel in which the bandwidth of the message does not significantly exceed the channel's coherence bandwidth.
In the study of wired channels, narrowband implies that the channel under consideration is sufficiently narrow that its frequency response can be considered flat. The message bandwidth will therefore be less than thecoherence bandwidth of the channel. That is, no channel has perfectly flat fading, but the analysis of many aspects of wireless systems is greatly simplified if flat fading can be assumed.
Narrowband can also be used with theaudio spectrum to describe sounds which occupy a narrow range offrequencies.
In telephony, narrowband is usually considered to cover frequencies 300–3400 Hz.
Two-way radio narrowband
Two-Way Radio Narrowbanding refers to a U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Order issued in December 2004 requiring all CFR 47 Part 90 VHF (150-174 MHz) and UHF (421-470 MHz) PLMR (Private Land Mobile Radio) licensees operating legacy wideband (25 kHz bandwidth) voice or data/SCADA systems to migrate to narrowband (12.5 kHz bandwidth or equivalent) systems by January 1, 2013.[1]

tronomical radio sources are objects in outer space that emit strong radio waves. Radio emission comes from a wide variety of sources. Such objects represent some of the most extreme and energetic physical processes in the universe.
History
In 1932, American physicist and radioengineer Karl Jansky detected radio waves coming from an unknown source in the center of our galaxy. Jansky was studying the origins of radio frequency interference for Bell Laboratories. He found "...a steady hiss type static of unknown origin", which eventually he concluded had an extraterrestrial origin. This was the first time that radio waves were detected from outer space.[1] The first radio sky survey was conducted by Grote Reber and was completed in 1941. In the 1970s, some stars in our galaxy were found to be radio emitters, one of the strongest being the unique binaryMWC 349.[2]
Sources: solar system
The Sun
As the nearest star, the Sun is the brightest radiation source in most frequencies, down to the radio spectrum at 300 MHz (1 m wavelength). When the Sun is quiet, the galactic background noise dominates at longer wavelengths. During geomagnetic storms, the Sun will dominate even at these low frequencies.[3]
Jupiter
Oscillation of electrons trapped in the magnetosphere of Jupiter produce strong radio signals, particularly bright in the decimeter band.
The magnetosphere of Jupiter is responsible for intense episodes of radio emission from the planet's polar regions. Volcanic activity on Jupiter's moon Io injects gas into Jupiter's magnetosphere, producing a torus of particles about the planet. As Io moves through this torus, the interaction generates Alfvén waves that carry ionized matter into the polar regions of Jupiter. As a result, radio waves are generated through a cyclotron maser mechanism, and the energy is transmitted out along a cone-shaped surface. When Earth intersects this cone, the radio emissions from Jupiter can exceed the solar radio output.[4]
Sources: galactic
The galactic center
The galactic center of the Milky Way was the first radio source to be detected. It contains a number of radio sources, including Sagittarius A* and the supermassive black hole at its center.
Supernova remnants
Supernova remnants often show diffuse radio emission. Examples include Cassiopeia A, the brightest extrasolar radio source in the sky, and the Crab Nebula.
Neutron Stars
Pulsars
Supernovas sometimes leave behind dense spinning neutron stars called pulsars. They emit jets of charged particles which emit synchrotron radiation in the radio spectrum. Examples include the Crab Pulsar, the first pulsar to be discovered. Pulsars and quasars (dense central cores of extremely distant galaxies) were both discovered by radio astronomers. In 2003 astronomers using the Parkesradio telescope discovered two pulsars orbiting each other, the first such system known.
Rotating Radio Transient (RRAT) Sources
Rotating radio transients (RRATs) are a type of neutron stars discovered in 2006 by a team led by Maura McLaughlin from the Jodrell Bank Observatory at the University of Manchester in the UK. RRATs are believed to produce radio emissions which are very difficult to locate, because of their transient nature.[5] Early efforts have been able to detect radio emissions (sometimes called RRAT flashes)[6] for less than one second a day, and, like with other single-burst signals, one must take great care to distinguish them from terrestrial radio interference. Distributing computing and the Astropulse algorithm may thus lend itself to further detection of RRATs.
Star forming regions
Short radio waves are emitted from complex molecules in dense clouds of gas where stars are giving birth.
Spiral galaxies contain clouds of neutral hydrogen and carbon monoxide which emit radio waves. The radio frequencies of these two molecules were used to map a large portion of the Milky Way galaxy.[7]
Sources: extra-galactic
Radio galaxies
Many galaxies are strong radio emitters, called radio galaxies. Some of the more notable are Centaurus A and Messier 87.
Quasars (short for "quasi-stellar radio source") were one of the first point-like radio sources to be discovered. Quasars' extreme red shift led us to conclude that they are distant active galactic nuclei, believed to be powered by black holes.. Active galactic nuclei have jets of charged particles which emit synchrotron radiation. One example is 3C 273, the optically brightest quasar in the sky.
Merging galaxy clusters often show diffuse radio emission.[8]
Cosmic microwave background
The cosmic microwave background is blackbody background radiation left over from the Big Bang (the rapid expansion, roughly 13.8 billion years ago,[9] that was the beginning of the universe).
Extragalactic pulses
D. R. Lorimer and others analyzed archival survey data and found a 30-jansky dispersed burst, less than 5 milliseconds in duration, located 3° from the Small Magellanic Cloud. They reported that the burst properties argue against a physical association with our Galaxy or the Small Magellanic Cloud. In a recent paper, they argue that current models for the free electron content in the universe imply that the burst is less than 1 gigaparsec distant. The fact that no further bursts were seen in 90 hours of additional observations implies that it was a singular event such as a supernova or coalescence (fusion) of relativistic objects.[10] It is suggested that hundreds of similar events could occur every day and, if detected, could serve as cosmological probes. Radio pulsar surveys such as Astropulse-SETI@home offer one of the few opportunities to monitor the radio sky for impulsive burst-like events with millisecond durations.[11] Because of the isolated nature of the observed phenomenon, the nature of the source remains speculative. Possibilities include a black hole-neutron star collision, a neutron star-neutron star collision, a black hole-black hole collision, or some phenomenon not yet considered.
In 2010 there was a new report of 16 similar pulses from the Parkes Telescope which were clearly of terrestrial origin,[12] but in 2013 four pulse sources were identified that supported the likelihood of a genuine extragalactic pulsing population.[13]
These pulses are known as fast radio bursts (FRBs). The first observed burst has become known as the Lorimer burst. Blitzars are one proposed explanation for them.
Sources: not yet observed
Primordial black holes
According to the Big Bang Model (also called the Standard Model), during the first few moments after the Big Bang, pressure and temperature were extremely great. Under these conditions, simple fluctuations in the density of matter may have resulted in local regions dense enough to create black holes. Although most regions of high density would be quickly dispersed by the expansion of the universe, a primordial black hole would be stable, persisting to the present.
One goal of Astropulse is to detect postulated mini black holes that might be evaporating due to "Hawking radiation". Such mini black holes are postulated[14] to have been created during the Big Bang, unlike currently known black holes. Martin Rees has theorized that a black hole, exploding via Hawking radiation, might produce a signal that's detectable in the radio. The Astropulse project hopes that this evaporation would produce radio waves that Astropulse can detect. The evaporation wouldn't create radio waves directly. Instead, it would create an expanding fireball of high-energy gamma rays and particles. This fireball would interact with the surrounding magnetic field, pushing it out and generating radio waves.[15]
ET
Previous searches by various "search for extraterrestrial intelligence" (SETI) projects, starting with Project Ozma, have looked for extraterrestrial communications in the form of narrow-band signals, analogous to our own radio stations. The Astropulse project argues that since we know nothing about how ET might communicate, this might be a bit closed-minded. Thus, the Astropulse Survey can be viewed[by whom?] as complementary to the narrow-band SETI@home survey as a by-product of the search for physical phenomena.[citation needed]
Other undiscovered phenomena
Explaining their recent discovery of a powerful bursting radio source, NRL astronomer Dr. Joseph Lazio stated:[16]"Amazingly, even though the sky is known to be full of transient objects emitting at X- and gamma-ray wavelengths, very little has been done to look for radio bursts, which are often easier for astronomical objects to produce." The use of coherent dedispersion algorithms and the computing power provided by the SETI network may lead to discovery of previously undiscovered phenomena.

As a Greek, i can translate easy this glyph. It says " ELEPHTHERIA "
wich in English is the word " Freedom " (straight and upside-down).
It is writen in an ancient Greek alphabet.

George,
I believe you may have the whole glyph block. I also encountered an
error message (encoded line # 83 too short!") in decoding from a copy I sent
to myself. But I was able to get the whole block, despite the error message
that said the file might have decoded improperly. Perhaps I should give you
a description of what is contained on the glyph block.
The whole block is a rectangular shape, a stone gray color. (I wonder
if this surface texture is a "tile" design!) Maybe whoever put it on the Web
used this effect to give more background so as to enhance the letters. At
any rate, it's the deciphering of these handwritten inscriptions that's
important. There are 3 lines or rows of Greek letters. The top line is
upside down. On the right edge there are some very small margin notes in
regular English script. I can actually read two words! It says "Broken
Here." I can't make out two other words, something like "progress ____"
These two words are very difficult to see. But the first two words I'm
positive about ("Broken Here"). There is an arrow drawn through the
backwards Epsilon letter and arching around pointing to the other Epsilon
letter. This gives me the feeling that someone also tried to translate this
artifact, and what we have here is a copy of the Saucer glyph on paper! That
explains why the inscriptions look hand drawn. That makes sense. I'll bet
that this represents a first hand sketch of the actual I-beam that was
probably later confiscated by the government in 1947, after the Roswell
crash.
OK, anyway, there are some straight broken lines (scoring) above and
below the top row of letters (hand drawn). There is also a zig-zag vertical
line on each end of the 3 rows connecting with the horizontal broken lines.
This is sort of a crude "frame" around each of the 3 rows individually. Now
the letters in the 2nd or center row are the same as the ones in the row
above it, but are rightside up.
You can see slight variation in the writing, but the letters are identical.
This can be easily translated and is the Greek word
"ELEPHTHERIA" which means FREEDOM. If you look on the left hand side of this
row you can also see some more hand written English script. I can make out a
"Bal..." spelling. It could be "Balance." And right below is "Cap" with
a short diagonal line pointing to the Epsilon letter.
I noticed some marks which look like bullets or large periods
repeated throughout the glyph and found specifically on either side of the
Phi and Theta glyphs. I feel like I'm taking a "crash course" in Greek! (no
pun intended). Now, these embellishments "large periods" are in a set
pattern. The middle glyph is the "straight" one. On either side of Theta
glyph (5th glyph in the middle row) are these black dots. It is also
repeated on the upsidedown row in exact order and representation. Theta has
2 black dots on its left and 1 black dot on its right side. Theta is the
symbol that looks like a circle with two parallel horizontal bands in the
center. This looks like a planet! The dots could be moons? We also have one
black dot on the left side of the Phi glyph (4th glyph in the middle row)
Again, this is repeated in the upsidedown top row. The Phi glyph has a
verticle band running through its center. I can't help seeing two
recognizable planets here! Saturn (Theta) and Uranus (Phi). This is only a
speculative guess. Another curious anomaly appears in the Phi glyph. The
vertical line is actually two vertical parallel lines cut short (like Uranus
spinning on its side). Looks very deliberately drawn because of the
repetition in the top row.
The last row is completely different than the first 2 rows of Greek
letters. They appear to be a more ancient set of symbols, perhaps
Arcadian/Lakonian or Kretan as you said, or Cyrillic (my note). The
arrangement of the bottom row is slightly different. We have two words side
by side but separated by a rough frame. They are identical and represent a
single word as in the other set. The left set of glyphs is upsidedown.
There are 4 letters to each word. The right set contains a symbol that looks
like the astronomical symbol for the sun (circle with a dot in the center).
But on the 6 o'clock position is a short horizontal line or tangent. (looks
like a snail!) This first glyph is "Omega." The second symbol or glyph I
cannot describe in terms of Greek letters. It looks like the "astrological"
symbol for Saturn (a lower case "h"). The third is "Beta" (looks like
number "3"), the last is "Iota." The closest approximation to how the
symbols look together as a word visually is "Oh3I." This has yet no
translation. But we have determined that there are just two words inscribed
on this glyph. The first word is FREEDOM. The second is unknown. The other
two words written upsidedown are the same as the straight set. I do not know
why this is so, or the need for it on the same block. Perhaps there is some
technical aspect or meaning, but this apect of upsidedown repetition is an
indication that whoever made this copy was simply recording what he
observed, as an act of historical preservation.
We need to know some thing about the original source of this
information. It is not the actual I-beam, but most likely was a deliberate
attempt to record such an artifact by making an accurate hand drawn copy.
The GIF shows signs of someone's earlier investigation (margin notes). If
anyone out there has seen this glyph or knows where it originally came from,
please contact me. Information is the key to unraveling its meaning and
will shed some light on this 50 year old mystery. Roswell may be the
Watergate of the UFO story. Much can be learned about the purpose and intent
of the aliens, their relationship to mankind and the nature of the Universe.
